Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. salt
  • 1/2 c. vinegar
  • 2 qts. water
  • 1 Tbsp. pickling spice
  • 1 tsp. alum
  • 4 - 6 dill stalks
  • 3 - 4 cloves garlic
  • 4 grape leaves
  • 4 cherry leaves
  • cucumbers

Instructions

  1. Combine salt, vinegar, water, pickling spice, and alum.
  2. Set aside.
  3. Put cucumber in 1 gallon jar, combining/alternating dill, garlic, and leaves, pack tight.
  4. Pour liquid into jar.
  5. Put in warm place for two weeks.
  6. Refrigerate after opening.
