Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. cold water
  • 6 eggs, beaten separately
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. sifted cake flour
  • 3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. flavoring of choice

Instructions

  1. Use Loretta Hilton's Chocolate Cake recipe.
  2. Substitute 3/4 cup cocoa for 2 squares chocolate.
  3. Use sweet milk for sour milk. Reduce soda to 1 teaspoon and add 1 teaspoon double-acting baking powder to dry ingredients.
