Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 3/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Mix sifted flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Cut in shortening with a pastry cutter until the mixture resembles coarse meal.
  3. Add milk and stir until blended.
  4. Knead lightly on a floured surface about 10 times.
  5. Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness and cut with a floured biscuit cutter.
  6. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet in a 425°F oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
