Ingredients

  • 1 quart milk
  • 1 rennet tablet
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 6 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup sifted flour
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the rennet tablet in water.
  2. Warm the milk to tepid temperature.
  3. Mix eggs, sugar, sifted flour, and vanilla together in a bowl.
  4. Pour the warm milk into a 2 to 3-quart casserole dish.
  5. Add the egg mixture to the milk and stir to combine.
  6. Add the dissolved rennet and stir well.
  7. Let the mixture stand for a couple of minutes to set.
  8. Bake at 450°F until the pudding raises up, about 1 hour or until a knife inserted comes out clean.
  9. Allow the pudding to cool.
  10. Serve with fruit or whipped cream.
