Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 c. flour (plain)
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt (optional)
  • 1/4 c. butter or margarine
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Mix
  2. flour,
  3. baking powder, sugar and salt together in a mixing
  4. bowl.
  5. Cut in
  6. butter
  7. or margarine to resemble coarse crumbs.
  8. Combine milk and egg, add to dry ingredients, stirring with
  9. a fork until it forms a soft dough.
  10. Roll out to 1/4 inch thickness, cut
  11. out
  12. biscuits
  13. with
  14. 2-inch
  15. cutter.
  16. Good for cobblers, chicken pie, etc.
