Ingredients

  • 1 cup coconut
  • 1 cup pecans
  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix
  • 1/2 cup margarine softened
  • 1 pound powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 8 ounces cream cheese room temperature

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Spray a 9 x 13-inch cake pan with cooking spray.
  3. Sprinkle coconut and pecans evenly in the prepared pan.
  4. Mix the German chocolate cake mix according to the package instructions.
  5. Pour the cake batter over the coconut and pecans in the pan.
  6. In a separate bowl, cream together the margarine, cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  7. Drop teaspoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the unbaked cake batter.
  8. Bake for 50 to 55 minutes until the cake is cooked through.
