Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • juice of 1 large orange
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 ripe bananas

Instructions

  1. Bring half the water to a boil with the sugar and salt.
  2. Remove from heat and add the rest of the water, fruit juices, and mashed bananas.
  3. Pour the mixture into a freezing tray of a mechanical refrigerator and freeze.
  4. When the mixture is thick and mushy, turn it out into a chilled bowl and beat quickly and thoroughly.
  5. Return immediately to the chilled freezing tray and place in the refrigerator to finish freezing until firm.
