Ingredients

  • 3 lb. white cabbage, chopped fine
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 2 onions
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. vegetable oil
  • 1 c. vinegar
  • 1 or 2 tsp. celery seed
  • 1 Tbsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Let cabbage, bell pepper, onions, and sugar stand while preparing oil, vinegar, celery seed, and salt.
  2. Bring the vegetable oil, vinegar, celery seed, and salt mixture to a boil.
  3. While hot, pour the oil mixture over the cabbage mixture and stir thoroughly.
  4. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
