Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup sifted plain flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

  1. Melt margarine in boiling water.
  2. Add flour and salt all at once and stir vigorously.
  3. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture forms a ball that doesn't separate from the pan.
  4. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
  5. Add eggs, one at a time, beating vigorously after each addition until mixture is smooth.
  6. Drop by 1/2 teaspoon about 1 1/2 inches apart onto a greased cookie sheet.
  7. Bake in a very hot oven at 450°F for 10 minutes.
  8. Reduce heat to 350°F and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  9. Remove with spatula and cool on a rack.
