  2. Using the rim of a glass, press the center out of the slice of bread to create a hole.
  3. Reserve the center circle of bread; place the slice of bread in the skillet.
  4. Crack the egg into the center hole of the bread.
  5. Cook until the egg is set and the bread is toasted, turning if necessary.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve the bread with the hole covering the egg center (Toad!).
