Ingredients

  • 1 column saltines
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 12 ounces chocolate bits

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a foil-lined cookie sheet with saltines in a single layer.
  3. In a saucepan, boil butter and light brown sugar together for 3 minutes.
  4. Pour the hot butter-sugar mixture evenly over the saltines.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 7 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and immediately spread chocolate bits evenly over the top of the hot saltines.
  7. Allow the candy to cool slightly, then place the sheet in the refrigerator to cool completely.
  8. Once cooled, break into pieces and serve.
