Two Toned Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. chopped pecans
  • 1 oz. chocolate, melted

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and sugar; add well-beaten eggs and vanilla.
  2. Add flour and salt.
  3. Stir in pecans.
  4. Divide batter and pour half in a greased and floured 8-inch pan.
  5. Add chocolate in rest of batter; spread on top.
  6. Bake at 350° for about 35 minutes.
  7. Frost with chocolate confectioners icing.
