Ingredients

  • 2 cans cherry pie filling
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 2 sticks oleo (butter)
  • nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pour cherry pie filling into a greased 9 x 13-inch cake pan and sprinkle sugar over the cherries.
  2. Sprinkle yellow cake mix evenly on top of the sugar and cherries.
  3. Slice oleo (butter) thinly and lay on top of the cake mix.
  4. Sprinkle with nuts if desired.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes or until the crust is slightly brown and the filling is bubbly.
