Upside-Down Gingerbread

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/4 c. corn syrup
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 6 fresh pear halves
  • chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in 9-inch square cake pan.
  2. Add corn syrup and brown sugar; blend.
  3. Fill 6 pear halves with walnut meats.
  4. Place cut side down in pan.
  5. Pour gingerbread batter over pears.
  6. Bake in moderate oven (350°) for 50 to 60 minutes.
  7. Serve warm.
