Veal Roman Style features tender veal cutlets wrapped in prosciutto, cooked with sage and white wine, served over fluffy rice for a flavorful Italian-inspired meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. very thin veal cutlets
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 12 paper thin slices Prosciutto or cooked ham
  • 1/4 c. butter or margarine
  • 1/4 c. white wine
  • 1 tsp. powdered sage
  • hot fluffy rice

Instructions

  1. About 1 hour before serving, prepare the veal cutlets.
  2. Season the veal with pepper.
  3. Wrap each veal cutlet with a slice of prosciutto or cooked ham.
  4. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  5. Add the wrapped veal cutlets and cook until browned on both sides.
  6. Pour in the white wine and sprinkle with powdered sage.
  7. Simmer until the veal is cooked through and the flavors meld.
  8. Serve hot over hot fluffy rice.
