Tips & Substitutions

For a heartier dish, consider adding lentils or chickpeas as a protein source. If you don't have coarse oatmeal, you can use rolled oats instead. Feel free to swap in any root vegetables you prefer, such as parsnips or sweet potatoes. Adjust seasoning based on your taste and consider adding a splash of vinegar for brightness. For a spicier kick, incorporate some chili powder.

Serving Suggestions

Serve the goulash warm, garnished with fresh herbs like parsley or thyme. It pairs beautifully with crusty bread or a side salad, such as Spinach Salad Dressing Or Dip, for added freshness. This dish can also be enjoyed over rice or quinoa to soak up the flavorful broth.

Storage & Reheating

Cool the goulash completely before transferring it to an airtight container. It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, gently warm it on the stovetop over low heat, adding a splash of water if it appears too thick. You can also microwave individual portions for convenience.
