Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 c. milk
  • 6 to 8 oz. American cheese

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat; stir in flour to form a roux.
  2. Gradually add milk to the butter and flour mixture, whisking constantly until it thickens.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in American cheese until fully melted and smooth.
  4. Cover and let sit until the cheese melts completely.
  5. Serve hot over vegetables, potatoes, or rice.
