Ingredients

  • 1 cup pumpkin
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon cloves
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 pie shell

Instructions

  1. Mix pumpkin, sugar, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg together.
  2. Separate eggs.
  3. Beat egg yolks and add to the pumpkin mixture.
  4. Add milk, melted butter, and vanilla; beat egg whites until soft peaks form.
  5. Fold the egg whites into the pumpkin mixture gently.
  6. Pour the filling into the baked pie shell.
  7. Bake at 450°F for 20 minutes.
  8. Reduce oven temperature to 325°F and continue baking until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
