Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/3 cup Crisco or salad oil
  • 1 package dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 cup warmed tomato sauce
  • 8 ounces shredded Mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Sift together flour, salt, and sugar.
  2. With a pastry blender, cut in Crisco or salad oil.
  3. Dissolve yeast in warm water and add to the flour mixture.
  4. Beat vigorously for 2 minutes.
  5. Dust the surface and knead the dough 25 times.
  6. Let the dough rest for 10 to 15 minutes.
  7. Spread the dough on a greased pan.
  8. Top with warmed tomato sauce and shredded Mozzarella cheese.
  9. Bake at 425°F for 15 minutes.
