Walnut Creams are rich, crunchy candies with a creamy center, combining sweet sugar and nut flavors, perfect for satisfying a sweet tooth or sharing with friends.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons white Karo syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups walnuts or pecans

Instructions

  1. Use a wooden spoon for stirring.
  2. Mix sugar, milk, syrup, and salt well before cooking.
  3. Cook over very low heat until the mixture forms a soft ball when dropped into cool water.
  4. Set aside to cool until lukewarm (do not stir).
  5. When the candy thickens, stir in vanilla and nuts and stir until the candy turns creamy in color and holds shape when dropped onto wax paper.
