Walnut Crown Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 c. walnuts, chopped
  • 2 3/4 c. flour
  • 1 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 eggs

Instructions

  1. Grease and flour a 9 or 10-inch angel pan.
  2. Spread walnuts over bottom.
  3. Sift dry ingredients into large bowl.
  4. Add milk, shortening and vanilla.
  5. Beat 2 minutes.
  6. Add unbeaten eggs.
  7. Beat 2 minutes more.
  8. Pour over walnuts.
  9. Bake at 375° for 50 to 60 minutes.
