Tips & Substitutions

For a sweeter Wassil, consider increasing the sugar or using apple cider for a richer flavor. If you're out of ground allspice, a combination of cinnamon and nutmeg works well. To enhance the citrus flavor, add fresh orange zest or lemon slices. This warming drink is perfect for chilly evenings, especially during the holidays.

Serving Suggestions

Serve Wassil in heatproof mugs or cups, garnished with a cinnamon stick and an orange slice for an attractive presentation. This cozy drink pairs beautifully with holiday treats or a Warm Green Bean And Pancetta Salad for a festive gathering. It can also be enjoyed alongside Mediterranean recipes for a delightful contrast.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftover Wassil in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. To reheat, pour the drink into a pot and warm over low heat until heated through, stirring occasionally. Avoid boiling to preserve the flavors. You can also serve it warm directly from the percolator if you have leftovers.
