Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup Crisco
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 package dry yeast
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 cups white flour
  • 1 cup wheat flour

Instructions

  1. Mix the milk, sugar, Crisco, and salt and heat just until the Crisco is melted.
  2. Add 1/2 cup of milk to the mixture.
  3. Ensure the mixture is just warm, then add the dry yeast.
  4. Beat well until the yeast is dissolved.
  5. Add the well-beaten eggs and beat well.
  6. Add 3 cups of white flour and 1 cup of wheat flour.
  7. Let the dough rise for 3 hours.
  8. Knead the dough.
  9. Roll out the dough about 3/8-inch thick and cut into desired shapes.
  10. Place the cut dough on greased cookie sheets.
  11. Let the shaped dough rise for about 2 hours.
  12. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10 to 12 minutes.
