Ingredients

  • 3 sticks butter
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 pint whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter until smooth.
  2. Gradually add sugar, one cup at a time, and beat well after each addition.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Mix in the flour and vanilla extract.
  5. Whip the cream until stiff peaks form.
  6. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cake batter.
  7. Pour the batter into a prepared baking pan.
  8. Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 2 hours or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
