Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. corn syrup
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 2 to 3 egg whites

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, mix sugar, corn syrup, vanilla, cream of tartar, salt, and boiling water.
  2. Boil the mixture for 3 to 5 minutes.
  3. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  4. Slowly pour the boiling syrup over the stiffly beaten egg whites.
  5. Continue beating until the frosting becomes very stiff and glossy.
