- In a large mixing bowl, beat together 1 cup sugar and butter until fluffy.
- Separate one of the eggs, setting aside yolk to use in cookie glaze.
- Add egg white and other egg to butter mixture, mixing until crumbled.
- Stir together flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon and baking powder.
- Add to butter mixture, beating well. Cover and chill dough for 3 hours or overnight.
- Roll out half the dough at a time on a lightly floured surface to 1/4-inch thickness.
- Cut into shapes with cookie cutters.
- Place cookies 1 1/2-inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
- Stir together reserved egg yolk and milk.
- Brush on cookies.
