Winter Mush

Instructions
- Bring 2 quarts of water to a boil in a pot.
- When the water begins to boil, sprinkle cornmeal into the water gradually, stirring with a spoon to prevent lumps.
- Add a dash of salt to the boiling water.
- Continue stirring until the mixture begins to thicken.
- Test the consistency to see if the mush is thick enough.
- Serve by placing some of the mush in a small bowl of sweet milk.
- Add sugar if desired.
- Enjoy as a nourishing dish on a cold day.
- The mush can also be sliced and fried if preferred.
