Ingredients

  • 1 (4 lb.) chuck roast
  • 1 pkg. brown gravy mix
  • 4 small onions, peeled, cut in half
  • hot water
  • 4 carrots, pared, halved and cut in thirds
  • 4 potatoes, pared and cut in quarters

Instructions

  1. Put meat into a 4-quart microwave-safe casserole dish. Sprinkle with gravy mix.
  2. Add onions and enough hot water to cover the meat.
  3. Cover the casserole dish with a lid.
  4. Cook in microwave for 30 minutes at Medium.
  5. Turn the meat over.
  6. Add carrots and potatoes to the liquid.
  7. Cover and cook in microwave for 1 hour at Medium or until the meat is tender.
  8. Remove from microwave and let stand covered for 10 to 15 minutes.
