25 Minute Spaghetti

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp. shortening
  • 1/4 c. chopped onion
  • 3/4 lb. ground beef
  • 1/4 c. chopped green pepper
  • 1/2 c. diced celery
  • 1 (46 oz.) can tomato juice
  • 1/2 lb. uncooked spaghetti
  • 1 small can tomato paste
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Melt shortening in 4-quart saucepan; add onion and ground beef and brown.
  2. Add green pepper, celery, tomato juice, tomato paste and spices.
  3. Bring to a boil.
  4. Add uncooked spaghetti.
  5. Cover and simmer for 25 minutes.
  6. Just before serving, stir to blend spaghetti with sauce.
