Sweet and savory acorn squash halves are baked with brown sugar and margarine, creating a comforting side dish perfect for fall dinners or holiday meals.

Ingredients

  • 2 acorn squash
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Halve the acorn squash lengthwise and scrape out the seeds.
  2. Place the squash halves open side down in a pan of water and bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.
  3. Turn the squash over and place 1 tablespoon of brown sugar and 2 to 3 tablespoons of margarine in each half.
  4. Bake for an additional 30 minutes until tender.
