Instructions
- Mix water, sugar and yeast lightly.
- Let set 10 minutes.
- Beat eggs and oil together.
- Add to yeast mixture along with salt. Then add 6 cups flour and stir with wooden spoon.
- Add 6 more cups of flour and stir well.
- Add more flour to make a workable dough (2 to 4 cups).
- Knead dough.
- Let it raise until double in size; punch down.
- Let it raise again.
- Dump out and cut with sharp knife into 5 loaves.
- Work the air out of each and put in greased loaf pans.
- Cover with a towel.
- Let them rise.
- Bake 10 minutes at 400°, then 25 minutes at 350°.
- Brush hot tops with butter for soft crust.
