A colorful and fruity pasta salad featuring alphabet noodles, pineapple, and oranges, complemented by a sweet whipped topping. Perfect for casual gatherings and kid-friendly meals.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups alphabet noodles
  • 1 20 oz can crushed pineapple
  • 1 20 oz can mandarin oranges
  • 9 oz Cool Whip
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

  1. Drain and save the juice from the crushed pineapple and mandarin oranges.
  2. Cook the alphabet noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, combine sugar, flour, and salt; add the egg and some of the fruit juice to make a thick mixture. Cook over medium heat until thickened.
  4. Let the cooked mixture cool completely.
  5. In a large bowl, combine the cooked noodles, crushed pineapple, and mandarin oranges.
  6. Fold in the cooled cooked mixture and then gently fold in the Cool Whip.
  7. Chill the salad for at least 1 hour before serving.
