Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 c. scalded milk
  • 1 egg or 2 egg yolks, slightly beaten
  • 2 c. heavy cream
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Mix flour and sugar thoroughly.
  2. Add milk slowly and cook over hot water 8 minutes, stirring frequently.
  3. Add to egg, cook 2 minutes and cool.
  4. Add cream, salt, and vanilla.
  5. Pour into freezer can and freeze using 8 parts ice to 1 part salt.
