Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2/3 cup flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 4 cups corn

Instructions

  1. Grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Separate the eggs.
  3. Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry.
  4. Melt butter.
  5. Stir in flour quickly over medium heat until a smooth paste forms.
  6. Stir the paste constantly while adding milk and bring the mixture to a boil.
  7. Lower heat; add egg yolks, salt, pepper, and corn. Mix well.
  8. Turn off heat.
  9. Gently fold in the egg whites with a rubber spatula.
  10. Pour the mixture into the prepared dish.
  11. Bake for 35 minutes or until lightly brown.
