Ingredients

  • 12 slices sourdough bread or 6 sl wholegrain bread halved
  • 1 3/4 cups mozzarella cheese or monterey jack, shredded
  • 1 1/2 cups beef lamb or pork, cut bitesize
  • 1 cup carrots or zucchini, shredded
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper ground
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon thyme crumble
  • 1 teaspoon basil crumble

Instructions

  1. In a 10x6x2 baking dish, layer bread slices to cover bottom of dish.
  2. Sprinkle cheese, meat and veggies over bread.
  3. In a bowl, stir togeteher the eggs, milk and seasonings until well mixed.
  4. Pour carefully over ingredients in baking dish.
  5. Cover.
  6. Let stand 1 hour at room temperature or in fridge for longer periods.
  7. Uncover.
  8. Bake 325F for 50 to 60 minutes or until center is nearly set.
  9. Let stand 10 minutes.
  10. Cut into squares.
