Ingredients

  • 24 soda crackers, crushed
  • nuts
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 6 oz chocolate chips
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk

Instructions

  1. Combine one cup sugar, one cup molasses, half a cup butter, one tablespoon vinegar, and a pinch of baking soda in a saucepan.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil and cook until done.
  3. Pour the hot mixture into a buttered pan.
  4. Add the crushed soda crackers, nuts, vanilla, and chocolate chips to the mixture and mix well.
  5. Pour into the prepared pan and let cool.
  6. Once cooled, cut into squares and wrap in paraffin paper.
