- Cook bacon until not quite done; drain and set aside.
- Saute chopped onions in 2 or 3 tablespoons of bacon fat until translucent.
- Wash one can of white kidney beans; leave the other can as is.
- Pour the unstrained can of beans into a large frying pan.
- Add brown sugar; stir until sugar is melted.
- Add onions and the other can of beans to the pan.
- Flake the cooked bacon and add it to the mixture.
- Stir in catsup, garlic powder, chili powder, and salt.
- Simmer the mixture for 15 to 20 minutes before serving.
