Ingredients

  • 9-inch tube angel cake
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup lime juice
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 5 oz. package lime flavored jello
  • 1 1/3 cups boiling water
  • few drops green food coloring

Instructions

  1. Trim brown crumbs from the angel cake and tear into bite-size pieces or cut into cubes.
  2. Dissolve lime flavored jello and sugar in boiling water.
  3. Add lime juice and a few drops of green food coloring; chill until partially thickened.
  4. Fold in whipped cream.
  5. Place half of the cake pieces in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
  6. Pour half of the gelatin mixture over the cake layer.
  7. Repeat layers with remaining cake and gelatin mixture.
  8. Chill several hours or overnight.
  9. Cut into squares to serve.
