Sweet and chewy apple balls combine grated apple, oats, and nuts with cocoa for a delightful treat suitable for all ages and perfect as a quick snack or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 cup grated apple
  • Dash salt
  • 3 cups quick cooking oats
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup nuts

Instructions

  1. Mix butter, sugar, cocoa, and grated apple in a saucepan and bring to a hard boil for one minute.
  2. Remove from heat.
  3. Add oats, vanilla, and nuts to the mixture.
  4. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
  5. Add more oats if the mixture is too sticky.
  6. Drop teaspoons of the mixture onto waxed paper and let cool.
  7. Once cooled, roll the mixture into balls and roll in confectioners' sugar.
