Apple-Berry Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 c. miniature marshmallows
  • 1 (16 oz.) pkg. frozen strawberries
  • 1 c. applesauce
  • 1 (3 oz.) pkg. strawberry Jell-O
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/3 c. shortening
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle marshmallows over bottom of a glass baking dish, set aside.
  2. Combine applesauce, strawberries and dry Jell-O.
  3. Set aside.
  4. Combine dry ingredients, blend in shortening, milk, eggs and vanilla.
  5. Pour batter over marshmallows, then spoon fruit mixture over batter.
  6. Bake at 325° for 45 minutes or until cake is done.
  7. Serve with whipped cream.
