Ingredients

  • 4 lb. apples
  • 1 c. apple juice or cider
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cloves

Instructions

  1. Wash and core apples; cut into eighths.
  2. Put 1/3 cup cider or apple juice and 5 or 6 pieces of apple into a blender.
  3. Cover and process until smooth.
  4. Increase the speed of the blender.
  5. Remove the cap and add more apple pieces until the container is full.
  6. Empty the blended mixture into a saucepan. Repeat with the remaining cider and apples.
  7. Add sugar and spices to the apples.
  8. Cook over low heat for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  9. Pour the mixture into jars.
  10. Process in boiling water for 10 minutes.
