Ingredients

  • 2 (17 oz.) cans yams
  • 1 to 2 apples
  • 1 cup walnuts or pecans
  • 1/2 to 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 to 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 2 cups marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Grease an oblong pan with vegetable oil.
  2. Pour the drained yams evenly into the pan, then add peeled and sliced apples and chopped nuts.
  3. Sprinkle brown sugar over the apples, yams, and nuts.
  4. Place pats of butter or margarine over the brown sugar.
  5. Bake at 350°F until the apples are tender and the brown sugar bubbles.
  6. When baked, cover the apples, yams, and nuts with marshmallows.
  7. Return to the oven until the marshmallows are golden brown.
