Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 packages dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 egg
  • 4 cups flour

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough by combining milk, sugar, salt, butter, dry yeast, warm water, egg, and flour; knead until smooth and elastic.
  2. Allow the dough to rise until doubled in size, about 1 to 1.5 hours.
  3. Roll out the dough into a large rectangle on a floured surface.
  4. Spread a mixture of chopped apples and nuts over the dough.
  5. Roll up the dough tightly from one long side to the other.
  6. Cut the rolled dough into two equal portions and shape into rings.
  7. Place the rings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving. Can be frozen for later enjoyment.
