Ingredients

  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups Crisco
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1/2 cup water
  • sliced apples (McIntosh or Granny Smith)
  • sugar

Instructions

  1. Crumble together the flour, salt, and Crisco until well combined.
  2. Divide the dough in half and roll out one portion to fit on a cookie sheet.
  3. Place the rolled-out dough on the cookie sheet.
  4. Arrange sliced apples over the dough, then sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Roll out the second half of the dough and place over the apple filling, sealing the edges.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) until the crust is golden brown, about 30 minutes.
