Ingredients

  • 6 cups McIntosh apples, cored and sliced
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup heavy or lite cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 cup sugar

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix apples, 3/4 cup sugar, flour, and cinnamon.
  2. Arrange apple slices in circles in the pie shell.
  3. In a small bowl, beat eggs, cream, vanilla, and 1/4 cup sugar until well blended.
  4. Pour the mixture evenly over the apples.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 40 minutes, covered with aluminum foil.
  6. Remove foil and continue baking for another 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Serve slightly warm.
