Tips & Substitutions

For best results, use a candy thermometer to ensure the fudge reaches the hard ball stage, which is around 240°F. If you prefer a creamier texture, consider substituting some peanut butter with Nutella or another nut butter. To make it even richer, try adding chopped nuts or chocolate chips during the mixing stage. This fudge can be a delightful addition to holiday treats like Hot Peppermint Sippers.

Serving Suggestions

Serve this fudge as a sweet treat on its own or pair it with a warm beverage for a cozy dessert. It goes wonderfully with coffee or hot chocolate. For a festive presentation, cut the fudge into fun shapes and serve it alongside a slice of 'Thank You' Pie or other holiday desserts for a delightful dessert spread.

Storage & Reheating

Store leftover fudge in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks. If you live in a warmer climate, consider refrigerating it to maintain its firmness. To reheat, place a piece in the microwave for a few seconds until just soft, being careful not to melt it completely.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use natural peanut butter instead of regular peanut butter?

Yes, you can use natural peanut butter, but be aware that it may alter the texture slightly, making the fudge a bit softer. Stir well to ensure even distribution of oils, and you may need to adjust the sugar content slightly for sweetness.

How do I know when the fudge is done cooking?

The fudge is done when it reaches the hard ball stage, around 240°F on a candy thermometer. If you don’t have a thermometer, you can perform a cold water test by dropping a small amount into cold water; if it forms a firm ball, it’s ready.

Can I freeze peanut butter fudge?

Yes, you can freeze peanut butter fudge! Wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and place it in an airtight container. It can last in the freezer for up to three months. Thaw it in the refrigerator before serving for the best texture.
