Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp. shortening
  • 5 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. milk

  2. Cut in the shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add milk gradually; stir until the dough just comes together.
  4. Pat the dough 1/2 inch thick on a floured surface.
  5. Cut into biscuits and place on a greased cookie sheet.
  6. Brush the tops of the biscuits with milk.
  7. Bake at 425°F for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
