Ingredients

  • 8 slices bacon
  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 8 hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. Cook bacon until almost done, but not crisp.
  2. Cut bacon slices in half crosswise.
  3. Pat beef into a 12 x 6-inch rectangle; cut into 8 squares.
  4. Combine lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce.
  5. Brush the mixture over the beef patties.
  6. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  7. Arrange the beef squares in a greased wire grill basket.
  8. Place 2 half slices of bacon crisscross on top of each burger square.
  9. Close the basket.
  10. Grill the burgers over medium-hot coals until cooked to desired doneness, turning often, about 20 minutes for medium.
  11. Serve the burger squares on split, toasted hamburger buns.
