Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. bacon, cut in 1-inch pieces
  • 5 large potatoes, diced
  • 5 large onions, chopped
  • 1 (No. 2) can tomatoes
  • 1/4 tsp. thyme

Instructions

  1. Put all ingredients (bacon, potatoes, onions, tomatoes, thyme) in a heavy pot.
  2. Cover with water.
  3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are cooked.
  4. Thicken the stew with a little flour before serving.
