Baked Pirohi

A hearty baked dish combining potatoes, cheese, onions, and noodles, perfect for comforting family dinners with rich, cheesy flavors and satisfying textures.

Ingredients

  • 10 to 12 potatoes
  • 3/4 lb. grated Cheddar cheese
  • 2 onions
  • 2 1/2 sticks oleo
  • 1 lb. lasagna noodles

Instructions

  1. Add grated Cheddar cheese to cooked and mashed potatoes, then beat well.
  2. Saute diced onions in oleo until translucent.
  3. Mix one-third of the sautéed onions into the potato and cheese mixture, add salt to taste.
  4. Generously grease a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  5. Place a layer of cooked lasagna noodles on the bottom of the pan.
  6. Add a layer of the potato and cheese mixture on top of the noodles.
  7. Repeat layering with remaining noodles and potato mixture, ending with a layer of noodles on top.
  8. Pour the remaining sautéed onions over the top layer.
  9. Cover the dish with foil and bake at 350°F for 35 to 40 minutes.
